I would have been there when that was recorded. And while a few years have passed, I think that is the voice of Scott Manning who was PD on AM while the FM went from a paper diagram to a huge contraption that sat along the lobby wall between AM and FM studios.

Hi,
In 72-73 AFVN radio Saigon was on the air 24/7 BUT there was a sign off procedure that included the two national anthems. They are posted to youtube from off the air A link is below.

I went thru some of my tapes (yes still have a reel-reel) and could not find a sign-off. I did find an FM sign-on when we separated the AM/FM after the 6 o'clock news (see attached)
Can someone identify the voice on the FM Sign-on

In DaNang 70-71 there normally was a movie starting after the news at 11:30. P.M. When the movie (might have been a Gunsmoke or something like that) ended the station would sign off. About 12:30 A.M. From time to time someone would bring Midrats [midnight rations?] from the Navy base at the bottom of the mountain.
