I am not certain, but I believe Follow Me was also the title of one of the “I am an American Fighting Man” motivational poster series. The only one I remember clearly is the “I will never surrender of my own free will” poster based on the GI that did not surrender to the Japanese when the Philippines fell and who was thereafter involved in guerilla warfare against the Japanese.

Hi Dickie.
"Follow Me" is, indeed, the motto of the U.S. Army Infantry school at Ft. Benning, GA. Attached are two examples of the patch worn by those assigned to the school including infantry OCS candidates. The "Follow Me" motto over the bayonet indicates that the infantry leads in Battle. The infantry branch color is blue while (artillery is red, MPs are green Etc.) Rangers have a somewhat different motto "Rangers Lead the Way" ( and indeed they do). I have a field jacket hanging in my closet with the follow me patch on the left shoulder.

Pete....
Doing great! Some of the guys have chimed in here... Motto of the US-Army Infantry. Was also the motto for the Officer's Candidate School in Georgia wasn't it? I am sure we can get more answers in the next day.

Is not "Follow me" the motto of the US Army Infantry?

Since I was aircrew my first two years in the Navy, here’s what it means to me. There was a vehicle on the tarmac with a “Follow Me” sign on its back that met the aircraft on the runway and led them to the taxiway where an airman like me would meet them and wave them into their parking stall.

Hey Dick
Hope all is well with you. Connie Francis called me to ask what the "Follow Me" signs mean. She's organizing a telethon for Veterans. I've seen a million of them, but can't remember exactly what they were trying to say. Can you help ?
My best regards,
Peter
