When ground stations came up there was no longer any need for aerial broadcasts. By the late 60's TV broadcasts [from Project Jenny?] were mostly in the delta and in Vietnamese. However, Blue Eagle One was based in Da Nang and flew radio only missions including propaganda, in Vietnamese.

Ann,
Rather slow in writing this, but was your TV really coming from Project Jenny?  The Hon Tre / Nha Trang (Cam Ranh Bay) Detachment (Det 4) was operation from March 13, 1967 and continued broadcasting until April 1972.  Project Jenny moved to the Delta in September 1966.  ( https://www.afvnvets.net/hist---timeline.html )
I rather doubt that you were watching airborne TV while at Cam Ranh Bay in 1969-70..

Great article, Rick Frederickson, in this month's Vietnam magazine on the Project Jenny program. I remember more about AFVN radio than TV, but one memory that stands out is watching Laugh In on a TV in Cam Ranh Bay in 69-70. I remember wondering briefly how in the world they were able to broadcast it. Now I know. :-)

Thanks!

Many thanks Ann. I had a blast doing this story. The father of one of the magazine's editors had a connection with Jenny. We have permission to post the story on our website, but not until October. Our Jean Leroy is prominently featured.  I'm working to get the unedited version up on my blog (without photos), so everyone can have access. I'll provide a link when its posted.  For those who want the full issue, I'm told single copies might be available if you ask your local Barnes and Noble.
